Oil-Free Screw Compressor

How long do screw compressors last? 

A screw compressor typically lasts around 15 to 25 years, equalling up to roughly 100,000 operating hours. However, lifespan really comes down to how well they’re maintained – especially in heavy-duty environments.

Do screw compressors run constantly? 

Yes, screw compressors are generally designed to run continuously rather than start and stop. In turn, this creates a steady flow of compressed air. It makes them an ideal compressor for industrial settings, where production is often constant. 

Continuous airflow is achieved using two key processes. The first is rotary compression, in which air is trapped and compressed as it passes through the rotating screws. How do screw compressors work?
