How do you design an air compressor system? 

Designing an air compressor system all comes down to individual requirements. It depends on air demand, compressor usage, and a consideration of operation costs. All of Air Supply Manchester’s BOGE compressors are designed to meet diverse consumer requirements, so we can customise each compressor design to match your in-house operations. 

Which compressor is best? 

Choosing the best compressor depends on your business needs. Factors include the specific application, operating conditions, air quality and long-term running costs. Different industries place different demands on compressors, so the ‘best’ option is very subjective.  

An oil-injected screw compressor with a variable-speed drive (VSD) is often the best all-round choice for industrial work. If air purity is a priority (such as in the pharmaceutical or food industries), an oil-free screw compressor is usually the preferred option to prevent contamination across products and processes. 

Can I install my own air compressor? 

No, it’s not recommended to install a screw compressor yourself.  

We strongly suggest using certified technicians to handle the installation, such as Air Supply Manchester. This ensures the system is set up correctly from the start and limits the risk of breakdowns later down the line. It’s also worth noting that self-installation can void the warranty if the system is fitted incorrectly.
